This shopping list includes all ingredients for:
- Sopa de Fideo (recipe in the newsletter)
- Tinga Poblana Braised Meat (Recipe uses pork but any protein can work)
- Tinga Poblana Stuffed Pasties (recipe in the newsletter)
If an amount is not listed, you will only need a small amount of the item in the recipe, so just having one package/bottle of that ingredient will be sufficient.
All newsletter recipes feed 1-2 people. Multiply amounts for more servings.
Produce
- [ ] At least 2 cups (300 g) potatoes of choice
- [ ] 2 white or yellow onions
- [ ] 1 head of garlic
- [ ] 4 Roma tomatoes or a 28 oz can of tomatoes
- [ ] Optional: fideo/tinga poblana toppings: avocado, cilantro, lime wedges
- [ ] Optional: Additional veggies for pasties stuffing: potatoes, carrots, onions, peas, or cabbage
Meat
- [ ] 3-4 lbs meat of choice for Tinga Poblana. Good options: pork shoulder or boston butt, chicken thighs, beef chuck roast or short ribs.
Dairy/Eggs
- [ ] Optional: queso fresco or Mexican cheese of choice(for fideo & tinga tostadas)
- [ ] Half a dozen whole eggs
Dry, Frozen, or Canned Goods
- [ ] 8 oz pack (250 g) dried fideo or short 1” vermicelli noodles
